3D Animation Studio in Dubai — Brand, Product & Story

Tsurtsumiya develops 3D animation for Dubai-facing brand stories, product worlds and seasonal campaigns, combining writing, design, animation, sound and grade inside one studio pipeline. The work runs from short brand pieces to long-form animated stories.

3D animation overlaps with CGI commercial work but the brief is different. CGI commercial production is product cinematography — a hero shot of a real or near-real object. 3D animation is narrative and character — the camera follows a story rather than a product. We treat them as separate disciplines because the writing, design and animation craft is different at every step.

What we do

We make four kinds of 3D animation:

Brand and seasonal animation. Holiday films, campaign animations, anniversary and milestone pieces, founder-story animation. Often produced for retail and DOOH placements as well as paid social.

Character animation. Story-driven shorts, brand mascot animation, narrative pieces with characters as the protagonist. Designed and rigged in-house so the character carries through the campaign as a system, not as a one-shot asset.

Product 3D animation. Explainers and hero shots for fintech, technology and B2B products. The animation logic here is closer to motion design than to character work — see also Motion Design in Dubai.

Mixed media. 2D, 3D and illustration hybrids; AI-assisted concept art combined with hand-animated craft. Used for editorial and brand pieces where the visual grammar is intentionally distinct from photoreal CGI.

Animation capabilities

Brand and seasonal animation

UAE seasonal calendars define a meaningful share of regional advertising — Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, UAE National Day, Diwali, Christmas and New Year for international audiences. We have shipped seasonal animation work that runs across these windows, with cultural sensitivity built into the writing and design rather than added in review.

Character animation

Character design, modelling, rigging, animation. Built in Cinema 4D, Maya or Blender depending on the rigging requirements. Performance work is animated by hand; we use motion-capture references for complex sequences but the final performance is keyframe-driven so the character keeps the studio's design language.

Product 3D animation

Explainer animation for fintech and technology brands — devices, dashboards, transactions, abstract product mechanics. Rendered in Octane or Redshift; composited in After Effects or Nuke depending on the integration with motion graphics layers. For motion-system-led explainers, route through Motion Design in Dubai.

Mixed media — 2D, 3D and AI concept

For pieces where the visual is intentionally illustrative — a hand-drawn world animated in 3D space — we combine illustration, 2D animation and 3D camera work. AI-assisted concept art is used at the styleframe stage to compress iteration on the world; final frames are illustrated and animated under direct artist control.

Our pipeline

Script and story. Story brief, narrative beats, character voice, target duration.

Storyboard. Frame-by-frame structure, on-screen copy, voice-over rhythm.

Character and world design. Character sheets, environment design, colour script, lighting direction. AI-assisted concept exploration runs alongside this stage to test direction before commit.

Styleframes. Three to six final-quality frames defining the visual system.

Animatic. Low-fi 3D blocking with VO timing; this is the locked structural reference before full animation begins.

Animation. Built in Cinema 4D, Maya or Blender depending on rigging, simulation and render needs. Lighting and lookdev run in parallel.

Render. Octane or Redshift, with Houdini for simulation work where required. Render management runs on our internal farm rather than against shared external queues.

Sound and grade. Sound design and mix; grade in DaVinci Resolve. Both produced inside the same studio so the deliverable pack reads as one piece.

Localisation and deliverables. Multi-language voice-over (EN, AR, RU and others on demand), Arabic on-screen copy, region-specific cultural review.

Why Tsurtsumiya for 3D

Story-first animation, not technical demo. The animation team is led by writing and direction rather than by a render reel. A character's performance reads cleanly because the writing and the boards lock the intent before keyframes are set. Technical craft serves the story rather than driving it.

Vertical pipeline — writing, design, animation, sound, grade in one studio. Most 3D animation projects route through three or four vendors: a writing partner, a design house, an animation studio, a sound and grade post house. We collapse that to one team. The practical effect is fewer revision cycles, fewer brand-language drifts, and a deliverable pack that reads as one piece of work.

UAE seasonal awareness in the writing and design. Ramadan and Eid timelines have specific creative norms — visual restraint, particular relationships with food and family, sensitivity around character action and gesture. We design and write inside those norms rather than retrofitting cultural review at the end. The same applies to UAE National Day, Diwali and the GCC retail calendar.

AI exploration at concept and styleframe — final animation under artist control. AI-assisted concept work is used to compress the slowest part of the timeline (getting alignment on the world). The animation itself is keyframe-driven; the character performance carries the studio's craft, not a model's bias.

A 3D animation brief usually moves faster when we have a story brief (even a paragraph), the target duration, character or world direction (rough is fine), the deliverable list, and the launch date. If the project has a seasonal window — Ramadan, Eid, National Day, end-of-year — flag it early; production calendars compress quickly inside those windows.
